Tim Burton Tribute Sketches (Part 1)

It has been a while since my last blog post, which is nothing new right? Well in August I decided to draw tribute sketches of a long-time hero of mine, Tim Burton. I started on August 3 and sketched one drawing a day leading up to his birthday August 25, 2016. Each sketch represented a movie or highlight in his career.  I wanted to share those with you today, at least part of them, and the rest will follow on the next blog post. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram this is will be a recap, but I hope you enjoy seeing them again. So finally, something new for the blog.

Top Left: Tim Burton’s first stop motion short, Vincent. Top Right: Mars Attacks! Bottom Left: Frankenweenie Bottom Left: Voodoo Girl from The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories Book.

Top Left: Large Marge and Dinosaur from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure. Top Right: Martin Landau as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood. Bottom Left: Helena Bonham Carter as the elderly witch in Big Fish. Bottom Right: A mash-up of two films Dark Shadows and Big Eyes.
